GoOA and the Bio-protocol publishing platform officially signed a data cooperation agreement on May 12, 2025. According to the agreement, the publisher will act as a cooperative support publisher for GoOA, providing data from the Bio-protocol journal articles published under its name. These will be used for discovery by users on the GoOA (http://gooa.las.ac.cn/) and PubScholar (https://pubscholar.cn/) platforms, as well as for long-term preservation of its content in the National Digital Science and Technology Literature Resource Long-term Preservation Center, providing high-quality open academic resources for access by researchers in China and around the world.
The Bio-protocol publishing platform was established in 2011 at Stanford University with the aim of improving the reproducibility of scientific research to aid scientific discoveries. It collaborates with internationally renowned publishers such as eLife and is committed to enhancing the transparency and sharing of experimental protocols. The Bio-protocol journal is a peer-reviewed international academic journal under Bio-protocol, focusing on publishing high-quality life science experimental protocols. To date, it has published nearly 5,000 articles from over 20,000 researchers worldwide. The journal is indexed in databases such as PubMed Central, Web of Science (ESCI), and DOAJ.
As of now, GoOA's collaboration network has expanded to cover 10 countries and 30 internationally renowned publishers.
