Born in Anhui in 1966; In 1987, he graduated from Changchun Institute of Geology (now the School of Earth Sciences, Jilin University) with a bachelor's degree in engineering. He graduated from the Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1995 with a Ph.D. degree. In June 1997, he was engaged in scientific and technological editing after postdoctoral work at China University of Geosciences (Beijing), and successively served as the editor-in-charge of Science Bulletin, China Science Foundation and Progress in Natural Science. Since joining the scientific and technological editing work, he has published more than 60 papers or essays on bibliometrics and scientific editing and writing in journals such as Science, Nature, Scientometrics, Learned Publishing, Science Bulletin, Journal of Editors, and Chinese Science and Technology Journal Research. He has rich experience in scientific editing and writing, and has presided over the translation of "Technical English Writing and Speech" and "Advanced Technical English Writing" in 2007 and 2009. He has received funding and awards such as the support for the introduction of outstanding talents in the field of journal publishing of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Outstanding Publishing Character Award of the 2nd China Publishing Government Award.
