Expert Introduction

Chen Chuanfu (1962-), male, from Guangshui, Hubei Province, is a senior professor of humanities and social sciences at Wuhan University, and a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Information Management of Wuhan University. He was admitted to Wuhan University in September 1979 and received his bachelor's degree in July 1983, his master's degree in July 1986, and his doctorate degree in law in July 2001. He was appointed professor in May 1993 and second-class professor in 2004. He served as Dean of the School of Information Management of Wuhan University (2005.4-2012.10), Minister of Academic Affairs in June 2012, Dean of the Undergraduate School of Wuhan University in September 2013, and is currently the Dean of the Graduate School of Wuhan University. Director of the Advanced Research Center for Intellectual Property of Wuhan University, researcher of the Information Resources Research Center of Wuhan University. He is also the vice chairman of the Library Association of China, the vice chairman of the Chinese Society of Social Sciences and Information Technology, the vice chairman of the Steering Committee for Library Discipline Teaching of the Ministry of Education, the vice chairman of the National Steering Committee for Master of Library and Information Teaching, the vice chairman of the National Library Standardization Technical Committee, the member of the Academic Style Construction Committee of the Ministry of Education, and the member of the Standing Committee of the Education and Training Group of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). He is the associate editor of the Journal of Library Science in China, and a member of the editorial board of Library Management (UK) and other journals. In 2002, he was approved as a recipient of special government allowance from the State Council. Selected into the Outstanding Young Teacher Funding Program of the Ministry of Education. He was a Senior Research Scholar at the University of Washington from October 1994 to December 1996 and a Research Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley from March to August 2006. In 2001, he served as a doctoral supervisor. Main professional directions: information resource management; Library Development Theory; Intellectual property. He has supervised graduate students to win 2 National Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Nomination Awards. He has been engaged in research in the fields of library science, information resource management and intellectual property for a long time. He has published many books, published more than 100 academic papers in domestic and foreign journals and conferences, and presided over more than 20 major projects of the National Social Science Foundation of China and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The research results were compiled into the "Achievement Report" and submitted to the party and state leaders for reference, and the relevant results were adopted and applied in projects such as the National Science and Technology Library and Documentation Center (NSTL). The research results have won the first prize of the Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award of the Ministry of Education, the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award recommended by the Ministry of Education, and the second prize of the Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
